The hairy-eared dwarf lemur, Allocebus, is a small-bodied (less than 500 g) cheirogaleid found in Madagascar. They get their name from their ear tufts. Allocebus is distinguished from other cheirogaleids by the morphology of their auditory (ear) region. Allocebus
has a tympanic ring that is fused to wall of the bulla instead of a
free tympanic ring like other cheirogaleids. Not much is known of its
natural behavior.
