Simias,
the pigtailed langur or Simakobu monkey, is found off the west coast of
Sumatra on the Mentawai Islands. It is a close relative of Nasalis. One genus is recognized, S. concolor.
They live in both monogamous and polygynous groups. Like other
colobines, they are primarily folivorous, but also eat some fruit.
Similar to the female proboscis monkey, both sexes of the pigtailed
langur have short, turned-up noses. They have short tails, and their
fore- and hind-limbs are similar in length.
