Tarsiers
are well-known for their remarkably large eyes directly related to the
lack of a tapetum lucidum. Tarsiers are nocturnal faunivores feeding on
insects and small vertebrates. Social systems vary by species, and
include solitary with overlapping ranges, family groups with a mated
pair and their offspring, and polygynous groups.
